Meet the Team

Adrienne Henson-Fourth/Fifth Grade Tutor

I’m Adrienne Henson, wife to Jacob and momma of four kiddos! This year I have a 5th grader, 3rd grader, Kindergartner, and a 3 year old. I was homeschooled my entire life and graduated from ORU with a degree in International Community Development. I immediately had our first baby and have been a stay at home/homeschooling momma ever since! My mom was Charlotte Mason inspired so I was raised with lots of rich literature and living books. I’ve always known I wanted to homeschool my kids and we have been CM from the beginning but we learn more each year! We use Ambleside Online and will continue to use it on our days at home. I learned about Tulsa Living Education through our Charlotte Mason Community in Tulsa. As a homeschooler myself, I know how valuable classroom instruction was for my own education and confidence, but I was never drawn to any of the local co-ops for my own children. We are very much looking forward to being able to continue in our Charlotte Mason education alongside other students in a classroom setting. I’m excited for this opportunity to teach at TLE using her methods and philosophy.

My husband and I are currently in the middle of building a house, we lead a young adult house church at Church Inside out, I love vintage books (and have a growing collection), and we love foraging on our land!

Victoria Johnson- Professora de Español/Pre-Academy Tutor

Hola! Me llamo Victoria and I'm originally from Cartagena, Colombia, wife to Brent Johnson and mommy of Grace Victoria 4th grade and Abigail Marlene 3rd grade.

I had the opportunity to come to the United states 18 years ago. God definitely had a beautiful plan for me in this part of the world!!

I met my husband at a church in Denver, CO where I also worked several years as a Special Ed Assistant in Elementary and Middle School with Denver Public Schools. I also worked as an assistant at Denver Language School in Spanish immersion with 1st graders.

We used to come to Oklahoma to visit my husband's beautiful family every year for Christmas, until I could not bear any longer the sadness of our girls saying goodbye to their grandparents. Since I don't have my family here in the States, I was ready to leave beautiful Colorado after 14 years and come to live in Broken Arrow, OK three years ago. Later, I grew in my desire of homeschooling our daughters having GOD as the center of their education, and while searching for philosophies and curriculums based on this, I found CM. I was also blessed with an amazing CM community where I met Kristin. One day she approached me asking me if I would like to be part of TLE. Trusting God and seeing this as an answer to my prayers, I decided to walk on this journey where I pray that God keeps molding me to become a better mom, wife and a helper for our beautiful students/children. I hope to keep growing in CM's delightful way of teaching guided by the Holy Spirit.

I'm very grateful for this wonderful opportunity and look forward to serving at TLE.

Brittney Bell-First Grade Tutor

Hello, Brittney Bell here, a small town southwest Missourian who fell in love with an Okie at only 11, said “I Do” at 18 and settled down in the”Heart of Route 66” & had 4 babies in 5yrs. I stumbled over Charlotte Mason when God was pulling on my heartstrings and shamefully  playing tug a war with another one of my “I’m NEVER gonna…” statements. He filled me with passion and humbled me to the core and I realized the CM method  truly felt like an extension of our home & parenting. I’ve dipped my toes in and done enough wrong, but God is faithful to guide and in my pleading for community, He bumped me into sweet Kristin and eventually (& delightedly) into the Tulsa Living Education opportunity. I’m elated to be entrusted with and to learn alongside these precious children.

Hãnnah Elkins- Art Tutor/Pre-Academy Assistant

I am Hãnnah Elkins, wife to Andrew and mother of 2. This will be our 7th year homeschooling and my children are entering 5th and 3rd grades. I have also taught art at area co-ops and small homeschool classes the last 5 years.

I grew up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin surrounded by beautiful national forest and have always had a knack for noticing God's amazing creation! Though I attended a small public school, I fondly remember the opportunities to be outside in the woods for PE, art, and science as well as lots of encouraging teachers! I am passionate about helping kids recognize their own creative outlets and learning to slow down to notice the details.

Learning about Charlotte Mason has been a game changer in our own schooling, and after a friend told us about Tulsa Living Education i knew it was the next step for our journey! I look forward to our time at TLE this year and seeing how all of the children flourish in these new opportunities.

Jessica Lagola-Handicraft Tutor

I'm Jessica Lagola. Married to my husband Bob for 12 years now. I'm blessed to be a stay-at-home mom to our 4 kids - 3rd grade, 1st grade, Pre-K and 18 months.

I grew up homeschooling (4th-11th) and swore off ever doing it myself initially. After seeing the state of our schools and with all the wokeness and sneaky desensitization going on, we opted to homeschool, at least in young years.

Kristin introduced me to our CM community a couple years ago and I fell in love with how they approach everything and the lack of pressure with standard schooling methods.

I care for the teachers' babies in the nursery and lead the Handicraft classes.

I'm so glad Kristin was given a vision and call to build this school and am looking forward to seeing how we grow this year as individuals and as a school.
